Animal Farm movie version

Having seen a movie version of George Orwell's Animal Farm, reflect upon and write about the following: 1) the differences between the two and your thoughts on them, 2) how the movie did or did not address Orwell's messages and your thoughts on that, and 3) which you preferred and why.

The Animal Farm movie differed greatly from the book. In the movie, Jessie along with a few animals escape from Napoleon's oppressing rule by leaving Animal Farm, only to return when the farm has collapsed and is in ruin. In the book, new arrivals replace the wasted, extinguishing the remains of a revolution. This added act of courage gives the movie another message: there is always hope for the future. Though the pigs flourish in the lap of luxury in both versions, the movie does not feature a large increase in the population of pigs, unlike the book where Napoleon fathers many with his sows. The pigs, in the movie, had the technology of a projector to brainwash the animals, and in the book, Squealer entertained with figures. This difference does not affect any messages. The windmill the animals worked hard for was not destroyed by a storm but by Mr. Jones for revenge in the movie. There is no second attempt to rebuild the windmill, omitting the message of slavery. In the book, the windmill is rebuilt sturdier, requiring more work. This labor is then exploited by the pigs for profit, not for the animals as once promised. The movie did not address all the messages of George Orwell's book. The trickery of the pigs was not fully displayed in the movie. In the original work, this trickery was used to expose the animals' stupidity. In the book, the animals were worked too hard to think for themselves. The movie, however, did include the message of "power corrupts." Napoleon eliminated his opponents and gained absolute power in both versions. I prefer the book to the movie because the book is the original work and contains all the messages intended. The book also illustrates the characters better than a movie could.
